I believe the recent book "Twin Cities by Trolley" has some very detailed maps in it.

Might be able to find this and other books at the local library. You might want to search the web for say "historical maps of Stillwater MN", rather than specifically searching on streetcars in Stillwater. Most pre-1954 streetmaps would show streetcar lines.
I live not far from where the line goes through Stillwater and go past the old substation on my way to work. No $$ to buy a book right now. I clicked on that link for a map but it only gave a general location of track. I think there has been at least 2 books made about the Twin City trolley system.

While I encourage anyone to purchase items from our Museum's store, the map referenced here is a little short on detail. The maps that I cite in Electric Railways of Minnesota have much more detail.
Thanks!

Hi, Go to the one true source for Minnesota Electric Railway History, the book titled the Electric Railways of Minnesota. Long out of print, the book can be had from used/OOP book sellers like Abe's Books for around $75-80.
Electric Railways of Minnesota has excellent maps of all the former TCRT lines down through the years. In particular, a series of maps show in great detail the TCRT track from St. Paul to Stillwater via Hazel Park, North St. Paul and Willernie (south end of White Bear Lake). Also detailed maps of the track in Stillwater itself.
Coincidentally, I used the maps just this past weekend to trace the lines in Stillwater proper and then down to Bayport. The sub-station on the west side of Stillwater on Owens Street is still standing and you can easily see the ROW from Mahtomedi to North St. Paul if you know where to look.
Enjoy your research!

Look for old topographical maps, city directories, and other maps....start with local libraries and historical societies.

Does anyone know where to find a map showing the old and gone Twin Cities trolley system as it went east into Stillwater and Bayport Minnesota?
