Metra has had a proposal for an operation on the EJ&E between Eola and Barrington in the past but it has encountered strong opposition from Barrington since it would contribute to congestion in the Barrington area.

The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

 AFAIK, the EJ&E was marketed as the Outer Belt. Wouldn't that be a potential connector between the different railroads radiating to and from Chicago?
