NJ Transit Approves FY11 Budget

NJ Transit's Board of Directors has approved a $1.79 billion operating budget and a $1.35 billion capital budget for Fiscal Year 2011.

Money in the capital budget is directed towards Portal Bridge replacement, Access to the Region's Core, and fleet modernization.

The purchase of a base order (NOT an option) for 100 additional Multilevel cars, as well as an option for 10 additional ALP-45DP dual mode locomotives (for a total of 36) was also approved at today's board meeting.
