Walked across the bridge several times already.

Egged is the "National Bus Cooperative" and has its own website.   It is a an acronim standing for something like the Hebrew for Organization of transporation for the nation.  I was at the ceremony in a hall I helped (in a rather tiny way) helped design which took place in January 1967 when it was joined by the local Jerusalem bus cooperative, Hamkesher, "The Connection."   In 1960 some of the main routes still had Chausson two-man rear-entrance buses.   Now most local service is with MAN low-floors, both single and articulated, and Mercedes typical transit buses.

You mean they Egged your bus?  Over here that only happens on Halloween.  At least eggs are better than rocks.  And yours was 28th, I'd hate to see the most egged bus,    (Sorry, I couldn't resist!) :)

Good news about the wire.  LRT can't be too far behind.  Calatrava has a bridge -

I feel your joy!

ANY new rail development is good news, but especially so in an area where most news is about things being destroyed.  May the good work be continued - and continuing.

First Jerusalem trolley wire

Said the "Sheheyanu" prayer today.   This is the prayer said when eating the very first Matzah at Passover, eating in the Succah for the first time, lighting the very first Hanukah light, hearing the Shofar for the first time on Rosh HaShannah, etc.   Because I saw the very first trolley wire installation above tracks next to the main road north while riding the No. 28 Egged bus to my dentist this morning.

Beautiful bronz simple trolley wire held by ears from span wire over the paved girder-rail double-track line.   Looks like it could accomodate shoes or trolley wheels if heritage equipment is borrowed for the opening.

For me, a miracle.
