Did the Tri-rail bought the new MP40PH-3c @ 4,000HP? When I move from Miami they were talking of purschasing a few locomotives to replace the old hugs.

Hi,
I see that Athearn have Bombardier coaches in their range but they show a GP50 in Tri-rail colours is this accurate?
Malcolm.
Per the Tri-Rail roster, the latest additions to Tri-rail's diesel fleet, 812 - 817, are rebuilt exNS GP49s. How close they are to GP50s, I am not sure.

Tri-Rail 807-809 are F40PH-2's built by MPI.
I thought the F40PH-2's were built by EMD It has no major external differences and the battery box mounted ahead the fuel tank. A engine of 16-645E3 that produces 3200 horse power. They built over 90 units from 85's to 89's.

I am pretty sure were built by MK but from what I've seen tagged online, They are either F40PH (probably confused with 810-811), EMD F40PHC-2C, EMD F40PH-2C, MK F40PHC-2. So what are they? thanks.
