I have been looking for information on the manufacturer of the equipment that the WMATA uses and have come up with zero. I heard they were built in Italy?? Any information would be appreciated.
I think the original equipment was built by a US airplane company Rohr. They also provided a few turboliner trainsets for Amtrak, not sure if the DC or Amtrak equipment's still operating or if they built railcars for anyone else.
I'm pretty sure the rest of DC's equipment was built by Breda, which as you mention is Italian, something like Breda Construzione Ferroviare maybe?
