Actually, it's wonderful to see young ones like that taking an interest in historic rail equipment! And it's wonderful for the IRM to get youngsters trained up and in the cabs ASAP. Get 'em hooked early and you've got 'em for life!
There appears to be another level of windows above what I expect to be the windows of an EMD F7 locomotive. Is this an artifact of the camera angle, or did this locomotive have a kind of "sun roof"?

Looks like it is camera placement that sees the area of the windschield above the sun visors that are in the UP position. Made me think I was riding in one of the Greyhound VistaCruiser busses.

It appears to be a reflection coming off the steel brace that supports the roof of the cab.
As the unit moves forward you can see a displacement of the catenary poles outside the cab compared to the reflection of those poles on the brace.

That's a reflection on the cab ceiling. At a very shallow angle the (surpringly shiny) ceiling is refelecting some of what is seen thru the winshield. It is quite an illusion!
