I wish them luck with what CA wants even the Big boys in this industry will be pushing back and I mean HARD. My boss is hearing rumors Schiender is thinking hard about pulling out of California after what CARB did to them this year. Old Domimion is thinking the same thing. Why they got fined over 100 grand for allegedly having trucks that were told old for California running around California and to close to a school. How did CARB determine that those 2 carriers were at fault they were the only ones with a Terminal in the area. CARB is about to have one hell of a pushback on their Regualtions and it is not going to be pretty. Why Schiender has the Money and Legal Teams to take CARB to court and destroy them over their regulatory making process and how they run ripshod over the law. Schiender is a member of the ATA and if they get involved the carnage that will happen in court could be freaking epic from a regulatory standpoint on how they make their rules.
For those in the “let see if they roll back Tier 4“ camp, the US EPA rolled out the next step of on road truck emission levels, I don’t expect to see "off road" emissions changing anytime soon, but Tier 4 is here to stay For locomotives. (“Reading the tea leaves” so its said)
