I would love to hear it. A 1650 HP straight 8 must really sound neat.

Have asked museum. Waiting a response. Thanks
Now that is a great picture. Gotta luv those round portholes.
Not a video, however it is a unusual angle of the Ingalls locomotive
Never too old to have a happy childhood!
sswcharlieGreat idea, where would I find online any index?
This is a wanswheel specialty. Put up the Bat-Light!
Occurs to me that you might try resources in Tennessee, as the unit finished up for quite a while in Jackson in the years it became a railfan 'target' instead of just another despised steam-destroying diseasel. I can't be of much direct help even though I live near there, but a potential entry contact point would be the Casey Jones museum:
Hi Firelock76
I have approached Ingalls Huntington with no success. Have contacted many places in MS also with no success. Trying to find an ex employee group, have not found one yet. Thanks
Hi RME
Thanks for email. Great idea, where would I find online any index ? I live in New Zealand a long way from the action.
Ingalls, maybe, possibly, might have done a promo film on the locomotive and it just may still be in the company archives somewhere.
Either that or it was thrown out long ago, OR a former Ingalls employee might just have it in a closet, long forgotten.
Just speculation mind you.
I have to wonder if newsreel clips from the mid-Forties, when the locomotive was still being actively promoted by a major defense contractor, might be the major 'hope' here.
Would like to locate movie film/dvd (even a small clip) of the Ingall 4S purchased by GM&O in 1946 and used thru to 1966, before being scrapped.
Check out GrandPa's 8mm film !
Thanks
