What am I seeing on the nose of this West Tennessee Railroad unit on page 49 of the July issue of Trains? Looks like a triangular opening where nose mounted headlights would've gone, with a white screen covering it.
It can be seen online as well, such as this picture off rrpicturearchives.net that someone has posted.
Looks more like a sticker of sorts than an opening to me. Strange.
It's just a sticker or decal, nothing more.
