Styling or Prototype model???
Posted by trainmaster247 on Friday, May 19, 2017 10:38 AM

I have what I am told is a Styling model for an EMD E unit. It is unlettered but has the B&O scheme. It was taken from the EMD library during it's clean out and the person who gave it to me used to work for EMD. It was saved from the garbage and I wonder how important was this to railroad history? Is it very rare or are there many of this thing. Some photos, albeit blurry ones can be found here: http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/30088

So any ideas?

Bring this to Preston Cook's attention on RyPN (model preservation is still legitimate historic preservation).  If he does not know the answers, he will know someone who can give them to you.

It would appear to be a model of an EMD E-6 (The B&O had 8 of them I think)

The B&O Museum in Baltimore might be interested in the model if you are looking for a home for it.

I am interested in keeping it though they are probably worth contacting for some info thanks for the help to all!
