A comeback?  Nah.  you're not going to see any new ALCO or FM locomotives coming down the pike unless they have "Lionel," "MTH," "Atlas," or "Williams by Bachman" stamped on the sides.

And I won't even begin to get into HO and N gauge versions!

FME Engines
FME acquired the ALCO engine product line (ALCO 251) for the stationary, marine, and locomotive power markets in 1994.
