Just came across a picture of a repowered Mopac switcher, numbered 1023, which was taken in 1962. What's odd here is that her long hood is high.
Is she one of the rare examples of a La Grange locomotive that was repowered with a competitor's power plant, prior to their effort to go all EMD in the 1960's?
If not, why did they do this if they just installed a 567 in place of her original Winton? Never seen that on any other Winton engined switcher that got repowered.
