Hello all ;
Here's a nice video depicting SNCF's CC72100's running their best on Intercity trains. These elegant engines styled by the known designr Paul Arzenz (of 'Nez cassez' fame . The 'broken nose' design so typical of french locos of the late 60's, 70's and early 80's) are some last of the diesel thouroughbreads, usually running in the last non electrified main line radiating from Paris, previousely known as 'Ligne 4' (general info ; http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ligne_de_Paris-Est_%C3%A0_Mulhouse-Ville and line diagram ;http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sch%C3%A9ma_de_la_ligne_de_Paris-Est_%C3%A0_Mulhouse-Ville). It's a demanidig railroad, with long sections where the 160 kmhr (100 Mph) limit is in the 'ordre du jour', but also with some dificult sections in between. Besides looking good, these engines also sound good (the only thing missing is a 5 chime american style air horn). Before the video, here are some specifications ; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SNCF_Class_CC_72100
And finally, the video link ;
Let's hope you enjoy it
