CN is the only railroad that continues to order marker lights. Conrail did, and some of their former locomotives still have them. They were common before the 1990s.

Red rear marker lights on diesels
Posted by NP Eddie on Sunday, December 21, 2014 10:01 PM

ALL:

The locomotives on "Railroad Alaska" have red marker lights on the rear of the long hoods.

I have not seen those on BNSF locomotives. The BNSF uses the headlight on low to mark the end of a train. Somehow I feel that red is more appropriate.

How many road have ordered this option on their new locomotives?
