MILW Loco #'s

What do the numbers such as 16-FRS on GP-9's, 17.5-ERS on FM H16-44's and such mean? I assume these are Milwaukee's own model numbers for their locomotives, but what do the codes mean?

17.5 ERS-4 would mean 1750 HP EMD Road Switcher 4 axle (GP9)

16 FRS-4 means 1600 HP Fairbanks Road switcher 4 axle

30 ERS-6 is a 3000 HP Electro motive Road Switcher 6 axle

30 GRS-6 is a 3000 HP General Electric Road Switcher 6 axle

12 ES-4 is a 1200 Horse power Electromotive switcher with 4 axles

Etc...
