3001 is a GP59ECO assigned to I think Intermodal, so Brooklyn yard in Portland Or.

UP (not UPY) 3001 and 3002 are ex-MKT GP40's 226 and 227 which were slug mothers.  The road slug was renumbered UPY 926.

The only GP59ECO/slug set of which I'm aware is on NS.

The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

All of th pictures that I have seen taken by various people identify UPY 3001 as a GP40.

I am wondering about UPY #3001 and its slug #3002. I have heard 3001 is informally called a GP59ECO. Any info appreciated. Thanks.
