I don't know when specific  AEM 7's are scheduled to be retired, but a few units should preserved for display. They served the Northeast Corridor faithfully hauling Metroliners until the Acela Expresses replaced them. They joined with the HHP-8's in hauling the conventional Northeast Directs or Northeast Regionals; they also hauled the Cardinal, the Palmetto, and the Carolinian on their New York - Washington segment.. They largely replaced the E-60's in hauling New York - Florida trains and the Crescent between New York and Washington.

With the new Amtrak Cities Sprinter debuting today and more going on line in the coming weeks, when will the AEM-7s start going into retirement? Anyone have a specific dates of when they will be going offline?
