Why are the ALP45DP's not in high demand among NEC commuter railroads?

Why haven't MBTA, MARC or Metro-North invested in ALP45DP's? They make so much sense.
Metro North could even make a third rail version to help supplement the P32's and MBTA could use them on all parts of the providence line including branch lines and MARC could extend services that are used by HHP-8's.
