A&M SD70ACes 70, 71,72

A&M's three new SD70ACe's 70, 71, and 72 are now painted and ready for mainline service.  I guess this means A&M's Alco C420 will be relegated to secondary service and yard switching.

Probably not all of them.  Three SD70ACe's can't possibly cover every mainline run.  At any rate, a lot can be said for A&M when it's in a position to buy new power for its operations.

The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

They're saying that they will handle all mainline freight runs. I imagine the Alco's will only pitch hit now when one of the EMD's is down for maintenance or there is a power imbalance and they don't want to hold a train. Otherwise, it's locals and switching for whatever Alco/MLW's that they're keeping active on home rails.

The Alcos will be used for the Locals, so they will be seen on the mainline, but not in big sets.

Wish that Caterpillar had kept theirs. It was very, very stupid for them to dump it.They have alot equipment that many of their worldwide competitors do not make like Komatsu,P & H,Liebherr & Hitachi
