Believe it or not, BNSF's turning former BN SD60Ms into remote control units. BNSF #8131 has been repainted into the paint-style usually worn on spartan-cab SD40-2s and GPs.

Maybe BNSF's trying to supplement or supplant their RCL SD40-2s?
And I assume that, unlike the 8200-series SD75Ms and 75Is that are or about too come off lease, BNSF owns the SD60Ms outright?
BNSF's SD40-2 fleet has dwindled over the last several years with many of them retired or returned to leasers, while other class 1s like UP and CSXT are rebuilding SD40-2s to extend their service lives.
