I would make the case;  that it (CSX4000's) resembles the NS's "Admiral" Modification being done at Altoona.

The number boards are different and there is a slight awning over the front side windows.  The corners of the short hood aren't radiused and might be a little longer than before. There are new awnings over the side windows and the windows themselves look like they are bigger and set off from the cab.  The roof design is different and the slopes on the side are smaller and they are at a flatter angle than before.

the most obvious physical difference is the new cab and shorthood which are manufactured by Wabtec. They are of a new design and unlike any others out there.

What differnent about CSX's new SD40-3? I see the headlight is on the nose is a little lower and moved into the nose, and the cab looks to be off a D-7/8.Extnerall differences are important due to the fact I plan on kit bashing one for my model railroad.
