What if FM never had the corporate infighting that caused it to lose many locomotive orders in the 1950s, particularly a 50 unit trainmaster order from IC. It would be interesting to see a modern AC motored comfort cab FM. If one sees how the EMD and GE engines have grown more powerful from the late 1950s to now from 1800hp non turbo to 4300hp turbo in the case of EMD and roughly similar for GE how much more powerful would an new FM be maybe 5000+ hp? Does FM still build the OP engine?
