Did most of Monon's black and gold F3's have dual headlights or single. Seems most of the pics I can find are of dual headlight (Mars/main beam) rather than the single beam of my custom painted Stewarts. I did find one set of 200 series single headlight F3's with single lights but just one pic. Tying to determine if the single headlight or dual headlights were more comon. I can always add the second headlight down on the nose door and turn the upper light into a Mars with my DCC decoder. Thanks Mike

A review of all the F3A photos on the site indicate that all the F3As photographed had dual headlights EXCEPT 209 and 210, both of which lacked the lower headlight in the nose door.

I believe you'll find all of the original Monon F3's were built with two headlights. The only ones with one were those units that were replacements for units destroyed in wrecks
Engines 85A & 85B were built as EMD demonstrators. They were later sold to the Monon. At some point the F's were re-numbered, and they became the 209 & 210. They did not have the dual headlights like the F's ordered by the Monon.
