Thanks Jim, I had no idea they were painted on.  They certainly look real in the photos.

In my experience, the light at the end of the tunnel is usually the train.

  Those are not grills - they are 'painted' on - They are supposed to look like the air inlet grills on the original articulated Zephyr power units.

Can anyone tell me the purpose is of what looks like grill openings on either side of the upper headlight on the Q's E units.

In my experience, the light at the end of the tunnel is usually the train.
