Hoboken Shore RR 44 Tonners
Posted by pajrr on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 5:19 AM

Hi, Until the late 70's a shortline railroad, the Hoboken Shore RR, served the NJ waterfront. The railroad had 2 GE 44 tonners, #700 & #701. Does anyone know what happened to these 2 locomotives after the railroad shut down? Any assistance anyone can provide will be appreciated.

Here's a link to a forum discussion from 2007 that talks about both 44-tonners.  Apparently both were sold to the New Hope & Ivyland when the Hoboken Shore shut down, and one was subsequently sold to the Tyburn Railroad (Morrisville, Pa.).  Jim Kerr's 2010 locomotive rosters book shows the Tyburn #400 still on the roster.   http://tinyurl.com/ycfetjl
