beaulieuNJ Transit is receiving 26 ALP46A electrics... The electric locomotives for NJ Transit are rated at nearly 9000hp
27 locomotives, 7500hp apiece:http://www.br146.de/revisionen_daten/ALP-46A_10289_LOC_Sept08_en.pdf
Of that order, one (4629) is currently testing in Pueblo, 4 (4630-4633) are at the MMC, two (4634, 5) are waiting pickup in Port Elizabeth, and two (4636, 7) are in transit. This was as of a week ago, so 34 and 35 have likely arrived at the MMC by now.

beaulieuCN received 40 SD70M-2s, BNSF is receiving 140 ES44DCs, UP is supposed to be receiving some ES44ACs this fall, NJ Transit is receiving 26 ALP46A electrics, and then there are some small orders for various gensets and rebuilds like the ten SD32ECOs for UP. That's all I know for North American customers, more are being built for Europe right now, than North America. The electric locomotives for NJ Transit are rated at nearly 9000hp. nobody is buying diesels rated at more than 4400hp.
Nobody in North America has ordered any locomotives rated at more than 4400HP in some years but China is building 6,000HP units from designs/components supplied by both EMD and GE (2 different models) and a Brazilian RR is taking delivery of ES59AC units (a GEVO Evolution series development of the AC6000CW)..

I hadn't heard the UP was getting any more C45's. As far as I'm concerned the ones we have barely hold together. Unless GE made some significant improvements I wouldn't EVER want to see another one! I am looking forward to the SD60 and SD40 overhauls though. It will be interesting to see how they perform compared to the as built models.
DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY INFO REGARDING NEW POWER ORDERS FOR THIS YEAR? THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY INFO. ALSO, DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY INTEREST IN ORDERING ANY 5500-6000HP LOCOS? THANKS.
