The two F69 A.C. units in question were NEVER Metra units and ran only on Amtrak.
The pair of F69PHAC's were sold to National Railway Equipment several years ago and were last stored at the NRE facility in Mt.Vernon,Illinois. Both were nothing more than stripped shells at that point.
It should be noted that these were the first brand new AC traction locomotives built in the US.
The pair of Phillip Morris F59PHI's built for the aborted "Marlboro" train were run of the mill F59PHI's and had nothing in common with the F69PHI's other than being EMD products.

Amtrak 450/451 were EMD owned engines with AC inverters/traction motors. EMD never got any orders and they eventually left Amtrak after general system wide service and a stint powering the ICE demo train outside of the NEC. I think the 'Marlboro' engines may have been similar, but were F59PHI engines. There were listed as F69PHAC engines, and were in the 'Winnabago' car body. They were built in 1988 and were out of service around the 1993/1994 time frame. I am not sure if they have been scrapped at this point.
