Yes, the only UP units not to have been renumbered are the 3900 and 2000 series, which have some units that are not of UP origin. All the others are from UP origin. I made a spreadsheet of all UP locos still running that are from the pre-MP/MKT/WP mergers.

With all of UPs merger/purchases their numbering system had become a real mess - so they essentially renumbered the whole fleet with a new scheme.  If you look close - you will even see patched UP units.

Why would UP Just not use SP Numbers.? I went to Las Vegas and they have a lot of engines with there original number plates covered and with new UP colored number plates. I have pictures of all of these things. I I also several NS and CSX Engines on my recent trip into old mexico.

The reason UP has patched many old units is because it is cheaper to patch it than repaint it. They do this because of the SD70Ms, Ac44s, and more recently, ES44s and SD70aces that have been bought. The freight cars keep their identity because a leasing company owns them. UP does own the reporting marks. There are even cars that have had DRGW, SSW or (possibly SP or WP, I'm not sure) logos on them that were added by UP.

Maybe a ballast delivery for a Harsco Track Tech project via their own equipment ?

I was heading home to Los Angeles when in Deming New Mexico( Part of the Lordsburg Subdivision on the UP)  I saw a locomotive with HTT Locomotive with about 23 hopper cars. Can someone please tell me what tis used for and what type it is. If you need a picture please tell me so I can post it.  Why would UP Just not use SP Numbers.? I went to Las Vegas and they have a lot of engines with there original number plates covered and with new UP colored number plates. I have pictures of all of these things. I I also several NS and CSX Engines on my recent trip into old mexico.
