  I wondered about this also, do'nt know how they did it operateing the engines indipendently but it made a difference.

Why would two engines MU'd together stall on a hill, and then be able to pull up that same hill from stop when Mu is disconnected? Re:article on Gas Local, Trains Nov 2007.
