Hey NS how about a heritage fleet like UP's

I think all of the class ones should celebrate their heritage. UP did a neat thing with the heritage engines, and even if it was for trademarks, which personally I don't think was the reason, it still provides us with SD70ACes painted in predecessor schemes, so hey, either way it is a win/win situation for us trackside!

Well if we are going to go there... I'd like to see the FEC paint all their locomotives like the 1950s yellow, red, and gold. I mean like wings looked good on UP F and E units and then on modern day safety cabs, I think the old FEC colors would look great. Personally the Alaska RRish colors on the latest SD70M-2s look awful in comparison.

NKP and Wabash would be cool, but N&W?  Even the blue with round herald was OK, but even the maroon version of the NW block letters is rather bland IMHO.  What' next? A PC hertigage unit?  How about an early Conrail patch of a PC unit?

Most of those Chessies are in deadlines. With CSX's 9120-2 in Waycross who knows if they will be the last Chessie's to be on active roster. They still have a pumkin(CSX 9119) and a Seaboard (2667) and the SD40 4617 in C&O paint. Of course you could count the YN1 or YN2 that are in the modified paint schemes. You can also count the 3(?) Electro-Motive Demos and the GP60 Demo in LLPX paint(CSX 6899) which never really makes it out of the south.

It won't happen, remeber that UP only did so to protect it's trademarks. Although, I'd love to see CSX do some. They still have alot of ex-Chessie, and Seaboard (and most of their other parent RR's) locomotives. Also that would back the "Diversity In Motion" slogan!

  I was referring to the likes of NW (maroon and gold, NKP, Southern (any green scheme) etc.  It would be interesting at any rate.  Randy

They don't have rights to any of the pre-Conrail schemes, so that would leave out PRR, NYC, LV, EL etc.

BNSF Needs to do this as well. Completely drop the BN and re-paint all units in the Warbonnet
