When I was at Jamestown last weekend I was told that the original boiler had been sent to Sacramento to act as a template for a modern, all-welded replacement boiler.  The loco frame and cab are sitting in the roundhouse, looking dusty but intact.

Ten Wheeler #3 belongs to the Sierra Railroad in California. What it boils down to (pun intended) is that it needs a new boiler. If you're a subscriber, there's a Trains Newswire story about it.

Anyone know what the status is of the locomotive used in many t.v. shows and movies that is located in sacramento at the railroad museum there? It is a rogers 4-6-0 #3. Last i had heard, it was in pieces and needed restored. Thanks!!
