Actually, I wish NS would mount the headlights on the nose. With the headlights on the nose there is much less glare because when they are mounted up high, there is a reflection off of the top of the short hood.
I also wish that the ditch lights could be separately turned on as they are with many of the units from Conrail. When the headlights are on bright running thru fog or snow at night, it is murder on the eyes. Being able to dim the headlights and have the ditch lights on is a BIG help.
As for those desk top controls (that NS inherited), you can take and stick em where the sun never shines!

Actually, new GEVOs have the standard control stand.
Ok, I know alot about trains, but I thought Dash 9s have the headlights on the nose, and a desktop control stand. I have seen alot of videos and photos, and the Dash 9s there have headlight above the windows, and a old fashioned control stand. Are they a different type of dash 9?
