As far as PRR locomotives are concerned, an M1 would have been a better choice.

 

There's even one in existence, at the Pennsylvania State Railroad Museum in Strasburg.

Probably be easier, cheaper, and quicker to build the T1 than to convince the PHMC to give that one up. 

It's been fun.  But it isn't much fun anymore.   Signing off for now.

If you want a real Mountain with good looks and a respectable history... that has a chance of being restored to operate... go to Elkhart.
