No semi-streamlining on 2816.

Not approved to wear the crown on the running boards.

On the other hand, it does have the moniker of Empress.

We'll take any big steam on the high rails that we can get no matter the name!

Looking foreward to a 'road-trip' in Spring of 2024..

Maybe to K.C. , or even Pittsburg,Ks;  might even get in a little chase between Pittsburg,  and Joplin, area...Good parallel highway, and fast track!

.

CP 2816 completed a longer shakedown trip from Calgary to Edmonton on Tuesday. Back to Calgary today.

This is the longest run yet.  About 180 miles one way.  I followed the northbound run from Wetaskiwin into Edmonton, this section of the line is paralleled by Highway 2A which made for quite the chase.  I conveniently managed to get caught in a bit of a traffic slowdown as someone else paced the engine at about 40 mph.  This trip only had a single F-unit for a diesel backup and it was idling from what I saw, 'The Empress' was doing all the work at speed.

One of the auxiliary water tenders came from the SP 4449 group, originally off a SP cab-forward.  It is being leased to the CP steam program for the upcoming big trips as I understand it.  The other one is from a Delaware & Hudson Challenger, it became a work service water or fuel car after the end of steam.

Greetings from Alberta

The timings of the crossing signals  appear somewhat longer than the US?

Anywhere to look for routings and dates in Mexico? I'm guessing it will go through San Luis Potosi, possibly San Miguel de Allende. From where I live now, I could make it to eiher.
