The Boyne Valley RR (nee Boyne City RR) gone almost 40 years has had most of their ROW saved as a trail. It runs between Boyne City and Boyne Falls, Michigan, about 7 miles. It ended life as a tourist railroad, which I rode in 1978.

About three times a week in non-winter weather I am forunate to be on the Dakota Rail Regional Trail. It is on the roadbed of the Great Northern Hutchinson Branch.
It starts in Wayzata MN near the former GN Wayzata Depot and runs along Lake Minnetonka before heading cross country towards Hutchinson.
Right now the trail is 29 miles long and is paved all the way. It currently ends in Lester Prairie, but the roadbed is intact the remaining 12-miles to Hutchinson and preliminary work is underway to extend the trail all the way to "Hutch".
It is well-maintained and is a great ride.
