Thanks for your advice! We had an open house to start things off. If you're interested in the Mertztown Train Station project and its updates, you can visit our website: www.longswamphistory.org or our GoFundMe page: https://charity.gofundme.com/o/en/campaign/save-our-station-mertztown-train-station. Thanks again!
Approach the local government where the park is located And seek their advice. There may be a park district or local tourism funding.
A story in the local paper of what you intentions are may also attract local donations. Good luck.
Go to Google Images and enter "Sturgis Historical Museum." You might want to talk to the folks there.
Hi all,
I am a newbie, so bear with me. I am involved with a non-profit that is working on moving and restoring a late nineteenth century train station to a public park. We have acquired the building and have funding to move it, but we are planning a campaign to raise funds for its restoration. Do any of you all know of any sources of funding for this kind of project? I have heard of the Dailey Foundation and the NRHS grant. We won't be able to obtain funding from the state, since it is not eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places. Any suggestions would be very much appreciate. Thanks!
