Matt,

Thanks for the response on the high trestle photo!  Sounds like New York area you didn't specify a state or major locations.

Really like the photo of Buffalo Terminal.  That is a beautiful building - too bad Buffalo can't figure a use for it.  New York Central really had a way with building.  The Detroit Terminal has been let go for years now all of a sudden they are putting electrical and windows back into it.

In 1964 when I was in middle school I rode the Central from Toledo to Erie, Pennsylvania for Grand Uncle's 60th wedding aniversary.  I rode one of the NYC streamliners, ate in the NYC dining car - real nice experience.  As I said we got to Erie, PA and stayed at the family estate which was within site of the Nickel Plate mainline which ran parallel to the NYC mainline between Chicago and New York.  I had a great time watching the freights on the Nickel Plate and the passenger trains on the Central.  Great NYC streamliners across the panorama of Pennsylvania!

Sorry, it is the lower part of the upper falls.  The park has a series of falls.  Upper falls is a series of falls at or just east the NS/Erie bridge.  Middle Falls is a bit further east, and Lower Falls is a mile or so further east.

There were large crowds at the view area at the lower part of Upper Falls, and some folks with long telephotos lens at Inspiration Point with both Middle and Upper Falls in the view.  The trails and parking lot on the west side of the track were also full, providing closer shots of the bridge.  This was possible due to the vegetation clearing by NS for the new bridge going in to the west of the existing bridge.

Sorry for the slow response.  The photo was from the lower falls area at the state park that the rail line passes through.  There is nearby parking, restrooms, snack bar, etc.  Letchworth State Park is a great railfanning location.

Matthew,

Very cool photo of the berkshire on the high trestle bridge!  Impressive bridge with the precarious height - sure is a long way down! - wondering where you took the image from? - state highway?
