Well, the second one should have an "Erie" look to it, the Erie DID operate Berkshires like 1225 ya' know!
Paul of Covington Great pictures! I can't figure out why, but there is something about the second one that I find especially intriguing.

To me, the high contrast of the smoke almost makes it look like model railroad (Lionel) smoke. Interesting effect.

Cue Gordon Lighfoot and "Steel Rail Blues"!
Great Scott, those are great shots!
Well done indeed!
Beautiful shots! Who says the "Polar Express" only looks good in a snowscape?

Images of how the day started and ended two weeks ago for Pere Marquette #1225's excursion from Mount Pleasant to Cadillac, this was hours before and after near Ashley, Michigan.
I caught it three times at sunrise, and another three at sunset. All separate locations, to say I had to hustle to stay ahead of the train is an understatement. These are in chronological order, the first at dawn and the last at dusk. I remained with the locomotive the entire day, but by far the best images came during low light conditions.
