Welcome back and saving the car is such a worth while cause. Here a chance to separate the men from the boys.  A common threads in the the rail fan community is to bemoan the passing of a historic locomotive or car because no one put up the money to save it. So let's dig deep into our conscious and our pockets and do what we can to save this car. No more would of, could of or should of, go to the site do it. Its the right thing to do.

Bob! Oh the memories!

 

Short answer: homework.

I never did stop liking trains, but I had to put my modeling on hold. There were more than a few quarters during which I barely had enough time to eat dinner at night due to all the homework load. But, in my second-to-last quarter, I have finally found time to begin modeling again.

The most infuriating thing about all of this was that I just so desperately needed to run a train in a circle, however, even if I had the time to do so, I would still have needed to deal with the problems that plagued my old layout, leaving my only option being to construct a new layout, which was impractical. 

But then one day, I had an epiphany while walking down the street talking on the phone to my soulmate (I have a girlfriend now! And she is supportive of my hobby! Yay!!!). For some reason, from the time I moved to Seattle to the epiphany, I always thought that my next move had to be a room sized layout, because I already did a small island layout. My epiphany was that I could build another small layout, only better!

And now, I find myself gearing up to construct a 6X6 layout whose story will inevitably find its way onto the forum sometime soon. I will finally get my wish to run a train in a circle!

Since we're talking about a prototype car, this belongs on Trains magazine's Preservation forum, not Model Railroader's.
