I would love to do that. But I live in Oregon. I would do that in a heart beat. I,m 22. So at some point I will definitely try to do that.

I suspect the work on 501 has taken a back seat to 470. But a quote from a RyPN thread on 501 [quoted verbatim] says as much now about the situation as it did then:

The last time I heard anything about this locomotive. Was that the group that owned it was trying to restore to operation. But that was about 5 years ago. Is she still gonna run again? What condition is she in? And did something happen to prevent her from getting restored? Would be a shame if she wasen,t cause she and the 7470 would look great running together.
