If you live in the Midwest (or don't mind traveling!) the Steam Railroading Institute of Michigan is running an excursion pulled by the Pere Marquette 1225 Berkshire on June 6. The trip will run from Mt. Pleasant to Cadillac and return. In Cadillac you can check out the "Back to the Bricks" Classic Car show or take a short side trip on the train from Cadillac to Manton.
This is the first time the locomotive has been this far from home since before the 15 year inspection, flue, and firebox replacement that was finished in 2013. Tickets start at $49.00 for seats in the bi-level commuter coaches.

Thanks for the heads-up. I live in Cadillac, and this is the first I heard of it. I wonder if the Manton trip will turn the engine on the Walton Jct wye?

The plan is to wye the locomotive in Cadillac. The side trip will run backwards one direction.
