I am guessing Sacramento California State Railroad Musuem?

I've never been there, but from pictures I've seen it looks like the Travel Town rail museum in Los Angeles' Griffith Park.

Sure beats the "Our Time" commercial with the tarantula!  Yuck!

My younger son has three tarantulas as pets.  They are definitely an acquired taste, not unlike the D&H 1400 series compounds.

The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

Are they assuming that most railfans are over 50? and that we too belong in a museum?

A look at Google Earth shows the train shed and the three railroad cars in the commercial that are very much like Travel Town city park in Los Angelos

I hope this cures any controversy about this:

Just in case you haven't seen the commercial I'm talking about...

There's a segment of "Are you interested in the Brave Type?" where a woman's in an exotic pet shop with a tarantula crawling over her hand.  "C'mon, it's just a spider!" she says to a guy off-camera.

The thought that runs through my mind is "Excuse me Ma'm, but you're standing in my line of fire!"  Hey, I shot a Black Widow spider with a .357 Magnum once!

I don't like bugs, spiders especially.

No, I've never seen it. Never heard about it till I read this thread. I don't mind spiders as long as they stay outdoors. Tarantulas are scary! There used to be a dating show called Blind Date. Like it says, it set up blind dates for people. Once, a guy showed up wearing a cowboy hat. Real polite-like he doffed it for the lady. He had a live scorpion on his head. The date went downhill after that.

Looking @ Google Earth and the track layout when they do train rides they cant be very long also there is a live steamer club up there as well. BTW what would be the nearest subway/light rail stop to get there?
