The rebuild of the running gear was completed over the summer.  The rebuilt boiler was placed back on the running gear 2 weeks ago.  The rebuild of the major mechanicals is complete.  Also the build of a brand new tender tank has been completed as well.  It won't be long.

Well, not knowing what else to do I went to the Mid-Continent museum website but unfortunately it doesn't say very much.

We're just going to have to wait for someone with first-hand knowledge to sound off.

Saginaw Timber #2 Near Completion?

Judging from their Facebook page, it looks like the folks down at Mid Continent are getting ready to put Saginaw Timber #2's boiler back on her wheels. There were several photos I saw of the truck and boiler and they looked far along in the re-assembly process. Has anyone been to the museum lately to provide any further details? Could steam return to Mid Continent within the next few years?!?!?! -W. Dancey
