Nice model but it is the 2926 as new without the roller bearing rods that are on it now.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, (Grin) but my modeling skills are not that good. This is the locomotive we took out of the park in ABQ in 1999, we have been working on it since then. So I guess the locomotive is the 2926 as of 1956 when it was put in the park. P? scale for 1 to 1? (Grin)
Some modifications have been made, we installed a ground level watering and fueling system,

We had hoped to be operational this year, but we will probably have to push the date back.

What as Built IIRC and this is from people that worked at the ATSF the War Baby 4-8-4's had roller Bearings at all moving points. Santa Fe loved to run their Steam LONG Distances and you could not do that with a Normal Bearing engine. Remember the 3751 class had a run from LA to KC after their rebuild with Rollers. The 3765s always had that run. The 2925 class were built except for a few differant Materials to keep weight down they were the Largest at 121 Feet and the Heaviest 4-8-4's Ever BUILT. Now I am remembering were I heard the Service corridor for them. My Grandfather coming back from the Pacific Theator was Pulled Behind one of the 2925 class and he was like Engine stayed with the Train all the way from LA to KC I was like no way. From his Journal.
The Santa Fe's Northerns not only made the run from Los Angeles to Kansas City non stop except for servicing but then they were turned around and sent back arriving in LA only three days after departing. Now that's endurance! Good luck with the restoration project! Engines like this one must never pass out of human memory.
