Its also on Trains' Newswire.

I'm very happy and excited to see steam coming back to NS.  I never thought i'd see the day where it would return.  A big thank you goes out to Mr. Moorman for bringing steam back!

Highly unlikely.  Note that the steam locomotives involved in the revival are owned by the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum.  They are also smaller and less likely to be restricted from certain lines.

The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

According to a release by the UTU, it may possibly be in place by this fall in the Chattanooga TN area.  The locomotives involved are Southern 4501, 630 and Tennessee Valley RR 610.  The proposal is currently under negotiation with TVR, more info to be released later.

My guess is that they will run trips around Chattanooga rather than system wide, ie Chattanooga to Jelico, Chattanooga to Birmingham, Chattanooga to Huntsville.

Agree. Everywhere out of Chatt except north on the CNO&TP or south on the Georgia North end.

I would want to see that as well. even 1218. though i did hear that some parts are missing but can also reconstruct those parts from metal house held items such as soda cans. (saves green too) but no turning down 611. and here is somhing that can be a little gag. have 611 numbered as 746 ( like the train by lionel ) would that give a hoot or what?
