Wha??? Recent, surely I jest?
I took a visit to the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, PA the other day to take a look at the mighty Baldwin locomotive numbered #60000 which was so done to mark what was to be Baldwin's latest and greatest engine - it's 60,000th one manufactured. And it was only 1926 at the time!
Here are two pics from the Museum:
A static 3/4 view taken from a descent height with help of a remote shutter and tall tripod:
BLW #60000
AND - The "action shot". For those of you who have not visited the Museum, the engine is rigged to move back and forth approximately 16' on it's short display track. The kids just love it and it's about as close as most of us will ever get to see a 4-10-2 "on excursion"!
BLW #60000 ACTION SHOT (Zoom Pan)
Photo taken while engine was moving and in turn, I "simply" zoomed out as it "zoomed" in towards me in a 2 second pan.
Hope you enjoyed!

Thank you for posting those excellent pictures. We were there about twenty years ago, but the place was closed and I did not get to see the 60000.
