I went to www.goldenstaterails.com and I was taken to the trip site. They say they are leaving LA Union Station and about 9:50 AM, Fullerton at about 10:25 AM, but I don't remember when they said they would arrive in San Diego. They are offering three kinds of trips and they imply that they are not yet sold out.
Go to the website and confirm the times, but expect delays when you get there.
