Former Santa Fe steam eng 3415 is scheduled to begin public excursions for the Abliene & Smokey Valley on May 23rd. Our NRHS meeting will be held there that day and a train ride behind the rebuilt steamer is on the agenda.I will not be able to make it up but it should be a interesting day for history buffs. This eng sat in a Abliene, KS park for 40 yrs until being relocated for a rebuilding process that is just about finished. A live radio interview was aired about the 3415 on April 18th and the upcoming summer excursions on the ASV.
