THA moving locomotives this week from Glendale to Samoa Roundhouse
Posted by Capdiamont on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 4:09 PM

" Two more locomotives now reside in the Samoa roundhouse!!!!! Friday the
Heisler turned to Diesel was moved easily. TPL #29 was loaded Friday PM.
We departed 6:30am Monday and arrived at the roundhouse just before 8am.
The best part was creeping down K Street in Arcata slowly and watching the
expressions on peoples faces as this huge steam engine went down the
street! Wednesday is the move of Hammond #15, the engine that is well
known as Big George when it sat in Sequoia Park. Cranes will arrive at
Glendale at 8am, and my guess is we will unload at the roundhouse after
noon. Timing depends on how it goes."

For thoose unfamalar with the area, this Glendale is between Arcata, CA, and Blue Lake, CA along Hwy 299/the old A&MR RR line.
